This is a taste of the class I will be teaching on Sundays starting in April and is designed to help you become more confident each time you approach the canvas. Whether in oil, acrylic or chalk pastel, working within a limited time is an exhilarating experience.
Still Life paintings will be 30 to 60 minutes. If I can get someone to volunteer we can have some quick figure poses as well!
Not for beginners, some knowledge/experience with materials, color, drawing skills desirable.
Bring your regular materials (no heavy solvents, gamsol/turpenoid ok). Also bring 4 canvases, canvas boards or a pad, or neutral colored pastel papers to each class. First ones can be 8 x 10 to 11 x 14. Please tone your canvases ahead of time if you can; light/midtone neutral gray, blue (or yellow ochre).
Cost is $130, minimum 6 students, maximum 10

This class is for continuing artists who want to introduce fresh visual elements into drawings and paintings. One of the amazing qualities of the soft pastel medium is its versatility, which combines well with watercolor, acrylics, oils and all drawing media (colored pencils, graphite, charcoal, marking pens and ink). Traditional and innovative processes will be covered.
This experimental workshop will focus on innovative, abstract approaches to the combination of oils, cold wax and pigment sticks.
Definitely a mixed media medley and designed for continuing painters who wish to move forward in their artistic expression.
A supply list will be sent to registered participants.
This is a 3-week instructed sculpture class using plasticine with a small armature. We will use the same model for all three weeks in the same pose. (No water clay.) Minimum for the class is 6 students and a maximum of 12. If you are interesting in painting or drawing, you are also welcome.
The price will be $125 for the three classes. Students may provide their own materials for sculpture or they can be provided by the instructor for a cost of approximately $45. This price will include a board for the base, 6 lbs. of plasticine, and wire for the armature. Sculpture students will need to bring their own tools for working the clay. Tools can be as simple as an old kitchen table knife or clay tools.
I will be able to provide a couple of sculpture stands.
Fees can be paid the first day of class but a FIRM commitment is needed right away to insure the booking of the model.
